Another innovation BETE has is to modulate air expansion force from none-constant into close to constant force during its expansion within a cylinder. This will give engineers much easier condition to design energy exchange system or device running on heat energy. Following list are applications BETE can be used:
- Air compression from a few bars to thousands of bars with compact design. There is no need to have multiple compression. But we adopt 2 stages compression for better heat exchange purpose in our PCT application.
- Compression and expansion force modulation mechanism to create constant force, which can be used for transport, electricity generation.
- Energy storage from mechanical energy to thermal energy directly.
- From normal temperature cooling to cryogenics cooling with high efficiency.
- Mechanical constant expansion force conversion into rotary torque force without system design caused energy lost, or vice versa.
BETE can be an useful heat engine for every family, small to large business, shops, institutions, mobile applications such as cars, ships, future aircraft capable of VTOL, low G-force space launch vehicles, to nuclear powered space ship and permanent lunar and Martian human research bases or/and colonies. BETE can be scaled up for very high energy demanding applications such as steel manufacturing plans.
BETE is also designed for energy harvesting purpose, for example, it can be a device to quickly and efficiently store energy in compressed air. All vehicles can use BETE as regenerative brake to harvest kinetic energy. In the future application, we think water electrolysis plays important role in energy harvest and storage, BETE can be the perfect air compressor to store and cool down Hydrogen as fuel.
Our most interesting and innovative approach in BETE function is to create cryogenic environment using a fraction of fuel energy to liquefy combustion residual to achieve ZERO emission. This solution can be used in any transport application and in industrial applications, for example, steel making. We believe BETE will cut primary steel making coal consumption to ZERO, and emission by this industry can be down to ZERO. There is great prospect to shift steel making business from fossil fuel intensive industry into renewable fuel or heat recycle.
We expect BETE will at least double transport fuel economy. Though this target is conservative, based on Blue Energy Australia research. In global scale, emission reduction, if we can replace heat engines worldwide with BETE, and step by step to establish a global network focusing on energy storage and harvesting, emission problem caused by fossil energy consumption can be massively reduced.
BETE is about to change electricity business soon. We will see centralized generators and power line transmission grid lost battle to decentralized local crowd generation. Passenger vehicles can be the unexpected player that disrupts electricity network. There is debate on the renaissance of electrical car, which let to the view that EV will help balancing the grid supply and demand mismatch. Blue Energy see the future otherwise. When cars are not used as transport tool, their engine will power the next generation smart grid. All you need is a car engine having energy efficiency on par with (or better) than the big generators. But when poles and wires are essential for centralized electricity business, there is no question who is going to win the race. Both private and business electricity users don't feel like pay more, that is the simply fact. When you know electricity energy has value added factor of 700%, based on 31% steam turbine efficiency, and 10% transmission lost, why don't you take the power in your hand?
Aviation will soon benefit from BETE powered flying cars type VTOL, which could be the beginning of decentralized 3D transportation system as parallel, high speed, no-timetable transport system for domestic region. Such VTOL vehicles will be the platforms for almost any passenger travel, such as short distance trips, for example, going to work, shopping, goods delivery etc., just like a taxi service. Or it can be used as passenger travel in between cities or towns for a long distance, just like trains or domestic aviation service. For international aviation, VTOL vehicles can achieve hypersonic speed, more likely, VTOL capable entering LEO might also be the dominate intercontinental transit option for premium passengers in the near future. But the "down" side of collateral victim due to this potential transport revolution is that all the investment in airport infrastructure globally face the outcome of complete value written off, without any doubt. If you have investment in airport business, you should avoid over exposure to such diminishing infrastructure. Other centralized "fast" land transport system such as high speed railway will also endanger to this competition because it is expensive to build, highly inflexible in service, and costly to maintain.
